The Jewel
Your Adventure begins in Cayo

I live in Belmopan, and by far, my favorite destination in the Cayo District is Ian Anderson’s Caves Branch. This jungle lodge has everything an adventurer like me needs. And if the adventurer is in you as well, I welcome you home.

Caving

Caves Branch offers a variety of activities to do in the Cay District. There is hiking, snorkeling, caving, tubing, horse back riding, kayaking, and tours. There is so much to do. And the best part of it is that after a long day of adventuring, one can come back to the lodge and relax at the five star accommodations. You can check it all out at http://www.cavesbranch.com or e-mail them at info@cavesbranch.com

Take a drive to this beautiful and friendly lodge. Your only regret would be that you wished you had more vacation days!

Explore Belize

Belize is a marvel. It is Mother Nature’s best kept secret after all. Belize has hundreds of destinations for people who are interested in partaking in the wonders of our flora and fauna.

One can visit the islands, which boast pristine beaches. There on the islands you are served some of the best seafood imaginable. After the delicious meals, one can then venture into the sea either by snorkeling or scuba diving.

If the islands is not your thing, you can embellish in the mysteries of the Maya ruins which are scattered around the country. Belize was once the center of one of the greatest civilizations of antiquity and is considered to have been the heart of Maya civilization during the Classic period. Today, you can tour authentic sites left by this great culture and experience mystical Belize Maya temples for yourself.

If Mayan history bores you, caving or hiking may be your thing. There are thousands of caves in Belize, all part of an extensive underground cave network throughout much of southern and western Belize. These offer varying degrees of accessibility and adventure.

Whatever your desire, Belize is sure to provide. Any destination will reward you with a feeling only our little jewel can provide.

Introduction

I am a very active individual. I love taking walks by the beach, hiking, or horseback riding. I love doing anything that has to do with nature. I’m an adventurer.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved being in the woods. I loved playing hide and seek with my friends, or simply just spending an entire day in the neighborhood river.

Now that I am all grown up, I have landed a job at one of the most environment-friendly institutions in Belize: Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT). Now I can have my dream job and continue my adventures.

This blog is intended to showcase my love for the jewel, Belize. It will be presented in the eyes of a true Belizean, showing true Belizean areas where any person for a love for nature and everything that is green, can visit and appreciate Mother Nature’s best kept secret.
